Christmas Project.
The project approach is based on children in early childhood education students who will undoubtedly be our potential participants.
Socialization, fun, educations, tolerance, conciliation of family life... are reasons we believe fundamental to be able to carry out this project.
Within educational contents and initiatives we can talk about:
Tolerance, interculturality, coexistence and equality, necessary to live in a society as varied and complex as ours, where everything evolves very quickly, change is constant and the mixture of cultures and races is growing. In this way we will achieve a full socialization of all students.
Creativity, posed as a fundamental pillar in the cognitive development of the child, for it will develop activities, dance, music, painting and crafts.
Knowledge of himself, proposing activities where each child individually or collectively, can know where their own limits or those of his companions are and thus assume its own limitations, the of the others and those of the group.
However, we should not forget that body and aim of this project is the teaching of a second language, English, through the traditions and customs of Christmas, date significant to everyone.
For them we consider activities that besides working all areas mentioned above are attractive to our children.
We use a methodology active, participative, globalizing and based on a repetition for a better assimilation of concepts.
OBJECTIVES:
1.Promote interpersonal relationships between all members of the group, developing values of tolerance, mutual respect, cooperation and solidarity through an active participation between the proposed activities.
2.Develop creativity and constructive spirit through workshops of manual skills, and corporal expression.
3.Enjoy the learning of English and of customs and traditions that this gives us through all activities.
4.Learn and practice different habits related to Christmas in various parts of the world. We will then develop activities that we intend to carry out during six days:
DAY 1.
Who is Santa Claus?
For this activity, we will place them in assembly and talk a little of what we know about who is Santa Claus (his appearance, what he does, where he lives...), thus bringing the views of all in common and at the same time serving as introduction to the story we will read later.
Story of Santa Claus.
It was winter and the village was filled with snow. Almost all the houses had the lit fireplace.
The people who lived in the village were not too rich, so that children didn’t have neither games nor gifts with those who play or have fun.
One older man, with a big beard white and Cardinal, who was strolling along the village, was found with a lot of sad and unhappy children because they had no toys to have fun. When that man returned to his home said to his wife:
- I'm very sad for all the children in our village!
- Why? - asked his wife.
- Because they don't have any toy with which to play, or games to have fun.
-We have to do something!-his wife exclaimed.
Marriage thought, thought, but neither came to a conclusion, until the husband said:
- I have an idea!
- What idea is that?-his wife asked expectantly.
- I'm going to manufacture toys for boys and girls of our village.
- That idea more good!
The man looked for wood, clay, plastic, and other things that could transform. With the help of his wife, he began making simple toys. It was then when his wife had an idea:
- I think that you should dress up!
- You're absolutely right, already has occurred to me something…
- Ouh, yes? What you thought?
- I'm going to wear red, and as we are at Christmas, you could go from... from Santa Claus!!
And that was how they were that they would proceed. Arrived Christmas Eve and, something special happened!
Six fawns were at the door of the humble marriage and then, the mister another idea occurred.
- With an old wooden sled, I can tie the fawns with sled straps and they could be transported me.
-Only to you these such wonderful ideas occur you!-exclaimed the woman
The marriage did what the man had said and everything went perfect. This Christmas Eve, the old mister and a little pot, with a big white beard, was an excellent Santa Claus.
The next day, Christmas day, all the children of the village were happy and content with their new toys. The happy marriage, strolling through the village, watching the children as they played and had fun happy. Then the woman said:
- You're fantastic, we have to repeat it the next years!
